VASCHETTO Rosanna
Research Activity
Brief Research Description
The research fields followed by Prof. Vaschetto are mainly on 1) invasive and noninvasive ventilation and 2) new markers of sepsis. In details we focused our research on the molecular mechanisms involved in the development of acute respiratory failure, on new monitoring systems to limit ventilator-induced lung injury and on innovative strategies to study alveolar matrix with noninvasive techniques. Furthermore, we are studying the efficacy of a new method to administer noninvasive ventilation to limit side effects related to this therapy. On the field of sepsis, novel pathways have been studied as well as new markers to help clinicians in different settings to reach the diagnosis of sepsis.
The research proposed by Prof. Vaschetto group involved both clinical trials and basic science projects. The research group is dynamic and comprehensive of PhD students, junior and senior clinical staff nurses and medical doctors and residents.
