Brief Research Description
He carried out theoretical and field research aimed at analyzing the feasts that define year and life cycles both within the tradition and in the social complexity, with particular focus on the relation that occurs between food and festive dimension. He is scientific coordinator of the project Granaries of Memory together with Piercarlo Grimaldi and Carlo Petrini.
During the last few years he has been working on the European project SlowFood CE – Culture, Heritage, Identity and Food (2017-2020); on the inter-university research Italian Mountain Lab. Ricerca e Innovazione per l’ambiente e i territori di Montagna (2017-2021); on the project Claim. Contamination Lab Aree Interne Montane, included in the SNAI laboratory – pilot area Ossola Valley (2021-2024); on the research commissioned by the Musée d’ethnographie de Genève aimed at investigating the bond between truffle hunter and dog during the search and extraction of truffles (2022-2023); on the PNRR research Ecosistemi dell’Innovazione NODES – Spoke 3 (from 2022); on the research H2O Heritage to Originate. The biocultural dimensions of Eastern Piedmont's water lands: a multifaceted heritage to originate future (from 2023); on the research Innovative management models and patrimonialization of rice ecosystems in Italy, Agritech project - National Research Centre For Agricultural Technologies sponsored by MUR - PNRR; Spoke 6 - Linea 1 - WP 1 - Valorizzazione del patrimonio socio-culturale, economico e giuridico della risicoltura in Italia (dal 2024).
