Brief Research Description
The research activity is focused on different fields:
pathofisiology of GH secretion and GH deficit in children and adults. Evaluation of final height after treatment with rhGH in different forms of GH deficiency/resistance. Genotype-phenotype in short stature using NGS platform to identifying new variants that cause short stature.
pathophysiology of pediatric obesity, with special attention on metabolic syndrome and vitamin D deficiency. Focus on the correlation between metabolic complications and adherence to the Mediterranean diet, as well as the impact of having breakfast. Supplementation with Bifidobacteria to evaluate the impact of zinc and myo-inositol supplementation on severe insulin resistance in pediatric obesity.
